Expectations should be elevated once the system is in place to maximize its value. Key areas of focus include:
- Continuous improvement – Businesses evolve, and their systems must evolve.
- Encouraging adoption – Training and internal support can drive user engagement and ensure the system is used effectively.
- Measuring success – Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess how well the system supports business objectives.
One of the fantastic things about Acumatica is its unlimited users and complimentary training.

Construction X’s Use of System
Construction X saw the value in having the whole team use Acumatica, and that expectation and encouragement of use helped them get a quicker return from the system. Unlike most systems where costs reduce access due to user fees and to save money, the business remains on spreadsheets, Acumatica doesn’t charge by user.
As a result, Acumatica allows the full team to have the right access they need for their role. For Construction X, that means the site’s sub-contractors and staff are using the system for their time tracking. The on-site management can see costs, work-in-progress, and inventory needs in real-time while on the job. And, of course, management and back-office are in the system and automating each day.

Construction X cut training costs in their first project, and in some ways, they didn’t get far enough through the failure for it to add to the problems, but with Acumatica, it was included. With complimentary access to the online courses, people management could set up a training plan for all levels. Onboarding was updated so that new staff hit the ground running with confidence.
With the team trained and all in the system, guess what? They wanted more. The wishlist is growing at Construction X. They are looking at more automations, new reporting, additional modules and other ways to scale. It never ends, which is a sign of success? (But also a downside of growth?)
System success isn’t just about selecting the right software—it’s about managing expectations at every stage. By setting realistic expectations during selection, managing them through implementation, and raising them in execution, businesses can ensure they meet and exceed their ERP transformation goals.
